从《苕溪渔隐丛话》看唐宋僧诗的诗学批评

摘要:

僧诗从唐宋偈颂的诗化流变而来,本土诗歌对偈颂在审美特质上加以改造,以诗歌的修辞、语言、韵律和形式来创作偈颂。《苕溪渔隐丛话》中所录唐宋僧诗,是中古时期僧诗的典范之作与诗学批评研究的关键材料。唐宋僧诗是禅宗思想观念与本土诗学实践互相影响下的同构结晶,唐代僧诗以“境”隐喻禅思,宋代僧诗以“理”表现审美。唐宋僧诗在功能上完成了从宗教体验到审美思辨的转型,共同建构起中古时期僧诗文学的书写典范。

Abstract:

Buddhist monk poems evolve from the poetic transformation ofgatha(Buddhist verses) during the Tang and Song dynasties. Native Chinese poetry reshapes the aesthetic characteristics ofgatha, withgathabeing composed using poetic rhetoric, language, rhythm, and forms. The Tang and Song Buddhist monk poems recorded in Tiaoxi Yuyin Conghua(anthology of fisherman-recluses' comments on poetry) are not only model works of Buddhist monk poems in the medieval period, but also key materials for the study of poetic criticism. Tang and Song Buddhist monk poems are the isomorphic crystallization of the mutual influence between Zen Buddhist ideology and native poetic practices with Tang-dynasty Buddhist monk poems using "jing"(aesthetic realm) as a metaphor for Zen Buddhist ideology, while Song-dynasty ones expressing aesthetics through "li"(principle/reason). Functionally, Tang and Song Buddhist monk poems achieve a transformation from religious experience to aesthetic speculation, jointly establishing the writing paradigm of Buddhist monk poetic literature in the medieval period.
